Once you are in the room, I will begin by asking you general questions to establish what areas you would like worked on, if there are any conditions needing to be addressed, and to determine what massage is appropriate for you. It is important to list all health concerns during your medical history form so I can adapt the session to your specific needs without doing any harm. It is also important to list any allergies so I am aware if I need to use a different product during the session. The key to a successful massage is communication so always let me know if you have a concern, question, or request. I want to ensure you get the most benefit from your session, so please let me know if there's anything you need to make you more comfortable from changing the temperature or music to adding bolsters or pillows to aid in your comfort.

You may undress to your level of comfort. Many people prefer to keep their underwear on during a massage, while others choose to be nude. I will leave the room so you can undress and lie on the massage table under the top sheet. Regardless if you choose to maintain some clothing or not, I will always ensure that you are always properly covered.

In general, massages should not hurt. In fact, if you are in pain during a massage, this may cause your muscles to seize up, making the relaxing effects more difficult to achieve. If the pressure is too intense, speak up immediately so I can adjust. Certain techniques may result in soreness during the days following a massage, similar to that of a great workout, but in general, you should not have pain during or after your massage.

Some people enjoy having a conversation during their massage, keep in mind, the treatment is all about you releasing your tensions and enjoying the experience. Regardless of your choice, be sure to speak up during the massage if there is anything you’d like adjusted (temperature, pressure, music, etc).
